How do interviews with employers work on GloballyHired?

To participate in interviews with employers, the interested employer must initiate the process with you on GloballyHired. They will send an interview request to you directly on the platform. When this happens, we will notify you on the platform and via email that you received an interview invitation.

How to respond to new interview requests
  1. To view the details of the interview request, log into your account and navigate to Interviews at the top of your screen.

  1. In the left-hand menu, select New requests to see all new interview requests requiring your response. You’ll find information on the position the employer wants to interview you for, the position’s worksite (on-site, hybrid, or remote), and whether the interview is virtual or in-person.

  1. Click Choose date & time on a specific request, and a pop-up will display all interview details. You will have the option to accept one of the proposed dates/times from the employer or schedule directly via the employer’s Calendly link provided. We recommend identifying the soonest possible opportunity that works for you (and don’t forget to express your excitement about connecting!).

  1. If the proposed times conflict with your schedule, select ‘None of the times work for me’. This option will redirect you to the Message Center, where you can coordinate a new date/time with the employer.

When a new time has been decided, expect a new interview request from the employer with the updated date/time. You will need to confirm the invite to accept and officially schedule the interview.

  1. Finally, you may also decline the request and submit your reason/additional comments to the employer. (If applicable, thank the employer for their invitation, as a new opportunity may pop up in the future!)
Interview reminders

Here are a few reminders to help you prepare for your interviews with employers:

  1. Be ready to introduce yourself and explain why your skills are a match for the role—and to speak to your experience in general.
  2. Ask questions! To foster a productive conversation, consider asking the employer thoughtful questions relevant to the opportunity you’re interviewing for. Here are some examples:
      • If hired for your team, what would be the most important projects and tasks I would accomplish in the first 30/60/90 days?
      • What does a typical day in this role look like?
      • If hired for your team, excelling in the role would be my top priority. Could you share any advice about goals or metrics that are important for this work?
      • Could you share more about working on your team? Who would I work with more closely? What other departments or units would I interact with?
      • Could you please tell me more about your work culture and how you all collaborate and communicate with each other?
      • What key initiatives are you currently working on?
  1. If your interview is virtual, ensure you’re in a quiet, well-lit, distraction-free environment and that your device and connection are stable. Test your equipment ahead of time.
      • Make sure the background behind you is organized and professional (or that you have a professional virtual background).
      • Familiarize yourself with the virtual platform where your interview will be conducted (i.e. Zoom, MS Teams, etc.).
  1. If your interview is onsite, confirm the address and plan your commute accordingly. We advise being in the area at least 15 minutes early so you may walk in on time or slightly early. Do not arrive more than 5 minutes early.
