Why am I being asked for an I-9 verification?
When you accept a temporary or interim role on GloballyHired, you become a W-2 employee, not a 1099 contractor. This means our back-office partner, who assumes the role of Employer of Record, provides you associated benefits during your employment. The I-9 verification process gets initiated as part of your onboarding once you accept a job offer. This step is required to ensure your legal eligibility for employment in the U.S. Compliance with immigration laws and a secure employment arrangement are guaranteed through this crucial process.
To comply with federal regulations, you’ll need to upload up to 2 forms of ID for verification. Once uploaded, you’ll need to assign an authorized representative to review the documents to ensure accuracy. This verification process must be completed within 3 days of your start date, as mandated by federal law.
We prioritize offering a compliant and supportive environment for new temporary/interim hires on our platform, and the I-9 verification process is part of that commitment. If you have any questions or need assistance with the process, please submit a help ticket to our back-office partner.
