What happens once I accept a job offer?
You will receive an email confirming your acceptance of the position. Congratulations!
You will also receive a message from the employer that made you the offer with more details regarding your anticipated start date and any contingencies to the offer, such as completion of a background check.
If you accepted a temporary/interim role:
If this is your first work assignment through GloballyHired, you will be invited to onboard with our back-office partner, Ascen. Ascen will be your official Employer of Record (EOR) and will take care of essential aspects of your assignment, such as payroll, timesheets, benefits and compliance.
Keep an eye out for the onboarding emails from Ascen and be sure to complete all requested tasks by their due date to avoid delaying the start of your assignment. These tasks include:
- Create your account on Ascen’s portal to manage timesheets and taxes
- Authorize identity verification
- Complete a standard background check (all temporary employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check)
- Complete forms such as personal information, W-4, I-9 work authorization (the I-9 needs to be completed no later than 3 days following your start date)
- Set up your direct deposit for payroll
- Optional: select benefits such as health, vision, dental, life, disability insurance, and 401(k)
On rare occasions some roles may require additional background screening(s). If so, you will receive an email from Checkr to get this completed. Typically, hiring managers will reach out to let you know if additional background checks are needed, but feel free to reach out to your main contact if you have any questions.
Each week you’ll submit your timesheet through Ascen’s portal. Since you are a W-2 employee, all usual payroll taxes and deductions will be withheld from your weekly paycheck. Here’s an article on when and how you will be paid.
If you accepted a permanent role:
Your new employer will step in to guide you through onboarding and orientation with their organization.
In closing
Feel free to contact your employer with any questions regarding your new role.
This is the perfect time to change your job status to “Not looking” until you’re ready to interview again and to add this new role to the Work Experience section of your profile!
