Why is my temporary staff member being asked for an I-9 verification?

I-9 verification is required when you onboard GloballyHired staff for interim/temporary roles. Talent hired for interim/temporary roles on GloballyHired engage as W-2 employees (not 1099 contractors). This means they receive associated benefits through our back-office partner, who assumes the role of Employer of Record.

The I-9 verification process starts upon acceptance of the job offer to ensure legal employment eligibility in the U.S. This requirement during onboarding for W-2 staff guarantees compliance with U.S. immigration laws and fosters a secure employment arrangement.

Your hired talent will be required to upload up to 2 forms of ID for verification. Once uploaded, they will need to assign an authorized representative to review the documents and confirm their accuracy. It’s crucial to complete this verification process within 3 days of the talent’s start date, as mandated by federal law. If you have any questions regarding the process, please submit a help ticket to our back-office partner.
