How do I run a background check for my permanent/direct hires? (And what are my options?)
GloballyHired makes it easy for you to run a background check for your permanent/direct-hire talent.
When you make an offer to a candidate, and a background check is required, be sure to inform them that the offer of the role is contingent on successful completion of a background check.
At the time you make an offer to talent for a permanent/direct-hire opportunity, you will have the opportunity to Connect to Checkr, our background check partner. Checkr is seamlessly integrated with GloballyHired to make your life easier.
Through Checkr you can run:
- Criminal checks
- Global education verification
- Employment verification
- Drug tests
- Credit checks
- And more!
Once you connect to Checkr, you’ll have the opportunity to invite the talent to complete a background check.
- Select the talent’s Country and State.
- Enter in the talent’s City of residence.
- Select a package and enter the Email address of the candidate.
- Click on Send invite.
The talent will receive an email requesting that they authorize the background check and provide additional information. The candidate will enter their personal identifiable information and electronically sign a disclosure, consent, and authorization form. This information will then securely transfer to Checkr and allow the background check to proceed.
The background check process takes anywhere from 1-3+ business days, and when the report is complete, you will receive a notification in the GloballyHired platform???? You will be able to review the report and determine the candidate’s continued eligibility based on your requirements. You can decide from there whether to proceed with hiring the candidate or to initiate an adverse action.
